Glen Dimplex Boilers mourns death of regional sales manager

Glen Dimplex Boilers is mourning the untimely loss of Peter Leck, one of its key regional sales managers for Scotland.
Just 60 years of age and a highly valued and well-respected member of Glen Dimplex Boilers' sales team, Peter passed away on 11 May, 2011.

He first joined Glen Dimplex Boilers in 2008 when the company was known as Halstead Glen Dimplex and his hard work, dedication and enthusiasm saw him become a popular figure with Scottish plumbers and merchants.

Commenting on this tragic loss, Glen Dimplex Boilers' managing director, Colin Gardner said: 'During his time at GDB, Peter demonstrated his total commitment to the company. Indeed, no one could have shown more excitement and enthusiasm for the company's growing success, in which he played a major part.

'Peter's main strength was his in-depth technical knowledge and ability to assist heating engineers in fault finding and technical design. He was always ready to help heating engineers and merchants with technical advice and sales support. Peter will be sadly missed by all, but never forgotten.'

Born in Hartlepool in August 1950, his early career began as a heating engineer before being appointed to the position of building services engineer by Wimpey in Teesside. He was subsequently a partner in a large contracting company before he came to Scotland with his wife Heather and the family in 1994.

He started his own plumbing/heating company before joining oil boiler manufacturers Trianco and Warmflow in technical sales. He then rose to become a sales agent working with two major boiler manufacturers and launching their products in Scotland, prior to joining Glen Dimplex Boilers.

Peter was married to Heather and had three children Mark, Rachel and Richard and five grandchildren all of whom he was very proud. Peter's great passion was fishing for salmon and trout in Ayrshire. He was also a keen Newcastle United supporter.
