Heating and Ventilating

Four new trustees for Gas Safety Trust.

Four new trustees have been appointed by the Gas Safety Trust to strengthen its core expertise and help create effective partnerships and programmes that are pivotal to its gas safety strategy and new direction.
The new trustees are:

  • Phil Brown - president of the Institution of Gas Engineers and Managers (IGEM) and Gas Systems manager for National Grid

  • Bob Kerr, head of Business Integrity, British Gas

  • Roger Webb, deputy chief executive of the SBGI (Society of British Gas Industries) and director of HHIC (Heating and Hotwater Industry Council)

  • Bill Wright, The Electrical Safety Council independent energy consultant and chairman of the Electrical Safety Council

  • The additional skills and knowledge brought to the boardroom table by the new trustees will enable the trust to fulfill its key objective, to reduce the danger of carbon monoxide and its effects on society through funding, research, evidence gathering, training, education and advocacy.

'To have the expert level of support from all the Gas Safety Trust trustees in this exciting period of our development is crucial and I look forward to the additional contribution of our new trustees in enabling the trust to meet the challenges and opportunities of the future,' said Mary Benwell, chairman of the Gas Safety Trust.
