ESi donates heating controls to community heating project

ESi has been involved in a charitable installation of a fully working heating and hot water system in Fife, Scotland.

ESi's Steven Nicholson hands over the ESi controls

Cosy Kingdom is a free and impartial energy and debt advice service available to all tenants and homeowners across Fife, in Scotland. It’s a partnership between Greener Kirkcaldy, St Andrews Environmental Network and Citizens Advice & Rights Fife. Their advisors can offer help by telephone and if needed, can also visit people in the comfort of their own homes.

Its friendly energy advisors can help find practical and affordable ways to save energy, understand gas and electricity bills and tariffs, switch supplier, advise on gas and electricity utility debt and help apply for the Warm Home Discount. They can also refer people for free benefit checks, offer support to those who are unable to top up their meters and provide a free handy service for those eligible for free energy saving measures.

Cosy Kingdom was approached by a local person asking them to see if they could help a lady in Glenrothes who was on a low income and suffering from mental health issues. The woman’s heating had not been working since 2019 and she had not had hot water in her home for many years before that.

As a result of the help offered to her, a new combi boiler was fitted and for the first time in five years the lady has a working and fully functioning, safe boiler and heating system. As part of the installation, Steven Nicholson who looks after Scotland for ESi Controls, was pleased to donate ESi wireless controls and thermostat to complete the job.

“It’s just a small thing but we’re delighted to be able to contribute to this charity installation for this lady,” says ESi’s Steven Nicholson. “It’s difficult to accept there are people living without heating and hot water, we’re proud to be able to be part of the team that have assisted with this install and to help improve the lady’s livings standards through the coming winter.”
