ELCO UK introduces CIBSE-approved CPD

ELCO UK has developed a new CIBSE-approved CPD to help building services engineers better understand how to integrate CHP, condensing boilers and heat pumps.

The module covers the extensive benefits of using CHP in commercial installations, in addition to the key considerations for achieving ‘Good quality’ CHP status. The new CPD also addresses how to achieve optimum efficiencies from a condensing boiler alongside low carbon technologies, including analysis of flow and return temperatures, plus the advantages of using modulating condensing boilers.

Finally, the new CIBSE approved presentation looks at how a commercial heat pump – a highly efficient low carbon technology – can work effectively alongside the latest condensing boiler units.

ELCO UK sales director, Gavin Watson, said: 'Integrating CHP with condensing boilers, or heat pumps with condensing boilers is becoming a popular strategy across the commercial sector and, for many years, we have been at the forefront of supplying the latest products for these applications. There will continue to be a demand for these types of setups as the road to 2020 carbon reduction targets gets ever closer, and the need to maintain energy costs at a reasonable level becomes critical for businesses.

'So by utilising our extensive in-house experience of the commercial heating sector, we have introduced this new CPD to provide engineers with the opportunity to further enhance their knowledge of the subject. And we’re certain that the information will prove incredibly useful for future projects.'
