ECA approved list now includes more Daikin systems

More Daikin UK air conditioning systems are now eligible for the Enhanced Capital Allowance (ECA) scheme, with a further 20 Sky Air and Split units having joined the approved Energy Technology List (ETL) from 1 December 2013.
The Carbon Trust, which runs the ECA scheme on behalf of the UK Government, recently increased efficiency thresholds for air conditioning systems to ensure only the top 20% most efficient products were eligible.

Daikin products that are now on the list include Smart and Classic outdoor units that can be paired with Roundflow cassettes, wall mounted and ducted units.

Daikin UK's managing director, Peter Verkempynck, said: 'Daikin UK products are now recognised by the Carbon Trust as among the most efficient in the air conditioning market. We are delighted to have even more Sky Air and Split systems on the ETL, making investment in our systems really worthwhile, in terms of savings in capital and operational costs and the lower CO2 emissions they produce.'

The ECA scheme gives enhanced tax relief for investments in equipment meeting published energy-saving criteria. Under the scheme, 100% of the investment can be written off against taxable profit in the year the equipment is purchased.

A full list of eligible Daikin products can be viewed at the ECA scheme's Energy Technology List website: www.etl.decc.gov.uk/etl/site/etl.html
