Cosaf wins hvac contract for West Mercia Supplies

Cosaf has won a competitive contract to redevelop Shrewsbury-based West Mercia Supplies hvac provision.
Cosaf has been commissioned to design, supply and install new air conditioning, Breezair and heating services to service the three storey office, warehouse and brand new mezzanine area.

The refurbishment of the site's air conditioning was a far reaching task, with 19 of the existing units having to be removed from across the three-storey building and replaced with new Daikin VRV air conditioning systems that allowed for 180m2 of office space.

A key part of the project was the ventilation of the brand new mezzanine area. To provide sufficient cooling directly to the area, Cosaf recommended the Breezair cooling system to provide provide energy efficient temperature relief. The installation required six evaporative cooling units to direct fresh, ambient cooled air to the production area in addition to an extraction system to be used in conjunction with the Breezair.

Cosaf also installed and repositioned two gas-fired heaters to improve air distribution and energy efficiency rates for the company surroundings.

West Mercia Supplies operations director, Jim Green, said: 'Prior to this project being completed, we had the issue of how to effectively cool one area whilst maintaining heat in another. The work completed by Cosaf has helped significantly in improving the overall air quality control throughout the premises and we are thrilled with the professionalism of the job.'
