BESA Training launches site safety plus courses

BESA Training has launched three new courses aimed at site supervisors and those who have recently begun working within the building engineering services sector.

The Site Safety Plus scheme provides all levels of the workforce with a framework for health and safety training and career development.

'Following requests from our members to supply nationally accredited training for health and safety, BESA Training is pleased to be introducing these courses, which are recognised by Build UK and cover the amendments to the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015,' explained BESA chief executive Paul McLaughlin.

'As a sector, we need to ensure that our work is compliant with these important changes, and BESA Training needs to ensure that all relevant personnel have access to them.

'We will be designing and delivering more courses soon that will help our members to keep their continuous professional development and compliance requirements up-to-date.'

The Site Supervisors' Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) course is a two-day course for those who work on-site in a supervisory capacity or are moving into such a position. On completion, delegates will have gained an understanding of health and safety law, have identified their supervisor responsibilities for the control of site safely, and be able to carry out site inductions, toolbox talks and risk assessments.

The Site Supervisors' Safety Training Scheme refresher course is a one-day course for those who have previously undertaken the SSSTS course, and must be completed within five years of the original training.

The three courses are being staged at BESA Training's headquarters in Burnham, Bucks, on the following dates:
• Health and Safety Awareness: Tuesday 5 April;
• Site Supervisors' Safety Training Scheme: Wednesday 13 and Thursday 14 April;
• Site Supervisors' Safety Training Scheme Refresher: Friday 15 April.

Delegate places can be booked by e-mail at training@theBESA.com.
