Batchelor goes it alone to set up new firm Supply Air

A former Systemair managing director Steve Batchelor has set up a new ventilation company called Supply Air, which began trading on May 1.
Having worked as a Systemair MD and most recently a sales and marketing director for the firm, Steve Batchelor hopes to capitalize on more than 30 years experience in the HVACR industry and 'go it alone‟ to form the new business close to his Northampton home.

The inspiration for the Supply Air name came from an earlier role in 1989 as managing director for an Enfield-based ventilation firm which bore the same name. This company was bought and integrated into the Air Movement Group.

Having acquired the Supply Air trading name, Batchelor is currently operating as a sole trader and says he hopes to expand during the year and already has the support of a number of key suppliers and manufacturers.

Supply Air will procure ventilation products including fans and air handling units for small to mid-size contractors who currently do their own buying and is looking to offer 'whatever they want, when they want it'.

Steve Batchelor said: 'The Supply Air business model will differ from conventional distributors in that it will focus more on becoming a 'procurement service‟, sourcing all manner of products, and will not be confined to brand domination.

'The intention will be to alleviate the precious time that engineers spend trying to obtain various different products from a multitude of suppliers by simply presenting Supply Air with a specification, a budget, and a timetable, and asking them to get everything organized'.

Great to read of your new venture. If we could be of any help, it would be a pleasure. Tony (Stock Electronics).
