Apprentices key for Aermec’s future growth

With increasing demand for service and maintenance engineers, Aermec has welcomed a new apprentice to the company. Marshal Packer has joined the service division where he will work alongside experienced engineers whilst studying to gain a recognised HVAC qualification.

Marshal Packer has joined Aermec's service division as an apprentice

Marshall recently joined the company, and he is being supported to develop the necessary skills set to become a qualified service engineer.

“Providing training and opportunities is very much part of Aermec’s ethos,” says Philip Atkins, service manager, Aermec UK.

“Aermec is keen to support anyone who has a passion and wants to learn the HVAC trade by combining on-the-job training with day release to gain recognised qualifications and build a career in what is an exciting and fast-moving industry.”

Marshal has already spent time at Aermec’s factory in Bevilacqua for initial training and is initially studying for a Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning at Eastleigh College in Hampshire. On completion Marshal plans to embark on additional training, further expanding his knowledge and skills.

“Apprentices enable Aermec to train people with the precise skills we need, and the company is investing in the future of the business as well as the HVAC industry. We are delighted to be supporting Marshal on his Aermec journey,” adds Atkins.

The benefits for any business taking on apprentices threefold; supporting apprentices provides skilled workers for the future, increases loyalty and staff retention, and can revitalise the business.

A fresh approach can also be injected into a company’s business activities by apprentices and their highly motivated and positive attitude can impact on existing staff.

An apprenticeship offers many opportunities. It is not only a springboard to acquiring additional skills but offers a path that continually advances learning whilst also leading to further HVAC opportunities within Aermec.

Established over 60 years ago, Aermec is one of the leading HVAC designers and manufacturers with extensive, purpose-built manufacturing facilities in Italy. The company designs, manufactures, and installs the latest technologies in air handling units, chillers, heat pumps and fan coil units for customers all over the world.

The company has a diverse customer base from data centre cooling to mission critical sites as well as commercial buildings, process cooling, farming/agriculture, pharmaceuticals, and leisure.
