All change for heat network association

As part of its commitment to promoting the interests of equipment manufacturers involved with all aspects of a heat network, the Manufacturers’ of Equipment for Heat Networks Association (MEHNA) has launched a new digital face with it new website which will act as the central platform for communicating and achieving key aims.

MEHNA has also recently recruited a new director, Steve McConnell, who joins the association from boiler and water heater manufacturer, Lochinvar, where he was engaged in many aspects of heating related activities. Mr McConnell has spent the whole of his working life in the plumbing and heating industry, starting as an apprentice plumber in 1984. Steve replaces Ross Anderson who has decided to take his well-earned retirement.

Mr McConnell, MEHNA’s incoming director, said: “MEHNA is a relatively new association, having been established in 2018 to provide much-needed representation to the Heat Networks industry. With a membership of approximately 95% of the HIU manufacturers, MEHNA has a very strong voice with the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) as well as the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE), Building Engineering Services Association (BESA), Association for Decentralised Energy (ADE) and others.”

“We needed a dedicated website to enable us to deliver on our key aim; to be recognised as the organisation that helps shape policy and positioning of the industry. The new MEHNA website will provide a hub for members to access news and documents. As well as, providing information on standards and regulations for all aspects of the heat networks sector.”

Membership of MEHNA is open to any company that markets products or services to the heat network sector and we would be pleased to discuss the benefits of membership related to specific product areas. Our aim is to work with every business involved in the manufacturing and supply chain of Heat Network products.
