Aermec sponsors Essex Royals FC

Aermec UK is sponsoring the Wickford based under 11s blues team of Essex Royals Football Club.

The company is supporting the club by funding their kit to help provide the team with the facilities they need for the next two seasons. Aermec is also helping to fund training equipment including mobile goals, bibs and training ladders, which can be prohibitively expensive for many clubs.

Essex Royals Football Club plays at Barleylands in Billericay, close to Aermec’s headquarters in Basildon. Paul Lawrence, managing director of Aermec is very supportive of the Essex Royals FC, believing it is important for businesses to invest in their local communities and help provide young people with sporting opportunities in their locality.

“Building relationships with local organisations can benefit everyone. Sponsoring the local team gives Aermec an opportunity to give back to the community – many of our employees and their families live locally – it helps raise our profile but more importantly it echoes our company’s ethos of valuing individuals, encouraging and promoting their well-being and enabling them to grow.”

“Football is a fantastic way of encouraging young players at grass roots levels to work collaboratively, build relationships whilst helping to develop the footballers of tomorrow,” said Mr Lawrence.

Essex Royals Football Club was founded in 1986. It rapidly expanded and during the 90’s established its 'football for all' philosophy enabling anybody to come and play football. In 2009 the club expanded further with the addition of a girls’ team and the Essex Royals also achieved Community Charter Standard, which is the highest level that can be achieved under the FA Charter Standard.

“Aermec is looking forward to some great football from Essex Royals. We will be looking out for the team’s results and progress for the coming seasons. Their enthusiasm and drive echoes many of Aermec’s values. We hope that other businesses will also be inspired to invest in their communities and encourage more youngsters to participate in sport,” added Mr Lawrence.
