Spirotech celebrates half century of deaeration expertise

Marking 50 years since it first introduced the concept of deaeration with its SpiroVent range of deaeration products, Spirotech has launched a social media competition to celebrate the milestone.

Spirotech is celebrating 50 years of deaeration with its #SpiroVent50 social media competition.

The competition is running until March 31 2018, and requests that installers tweet their photographs of installations using products from the SpiroVent family, using the hashtag #SpiroVent50.

One winner will receive an iPad Air 2, alongside a trophy, a SpiroVent RV2 deaerator, and a Spirotech merchandise bundle. Three runners up will also receive the RV2 and merchandise bundle.

The SpiroVent family was first introduced in 1968 to manage the problem of air within both domestic and commercial heating systems. The full range comprises the SpiroVent RV2 brass deaerator, the SpiroVent stainless steel deaerator, SpiroVent steel deaerator, SpiroVent Solar, SpiroVent Superior vacuum degasser and the SpiroTop automatic air vent.

Followers of Spirotech's Twitter account can enter as many installations as desired, and the submissions will be displayed on a ‘SpiroVent50 Wall of Fame’ on the company website.

Kevan Peaker, UK business unit director at Spirotech, said: “Spirotech first pioneered the concept of deaeration back in 1968 and now, 50 years down the line, we continue to lead the market when it comes to creating products that truly get to the bottom of heating system inefficiencies.

“It has always been our belief that a ‘prevention is better than cure’ approach is key when it comes to maintaining system efficiency and reliability. Deaeration is exactly that; by removing the air from a system, you are able to prevent reduced flow rates, noisy radiators, cold spots and the build up of magnetite, ultimately resulting in much higher performance and longevity.

“The #SpiroVent50 competition is a celebration of the research, dedication and commitment that goes into creating products that truly get the job done. We look forward to seeing all of the brilliant entries from the Twitter community.”
