Emcor partners up for research academy

Emcor Group (UK) has opened the Emcor UK Innovation Academy in partnership with the City of Wolverhampton College.
Emcor partners up for research academy
The Emcor UK Innovation Academy provides research facilities dedicated to developing services for customers as well as training EMCOR employees, apprentices and college students.

The main focus of the academy, which will serve the UK nationally, will be to develop innovative and sustainable electrical, mechanical and public health construction methods, implement lean construction techniques, and trial new products and tools.

The academy will also enable demonstration projects to be constructed and tested in an off-site environment. The company hopes the academy will become a centre of knowledge excellence by ensuring the resulting solutions are shared with customers and throughout the supply chain through workshops and best practice guides.

The academy will also provide a training suite which will become Emcor's main centre for training and work-based learning for apprentices and employees.

Students at the City of Wolverhampton College will have the opportunity to learn in both live and trial environments, and will be offered work placements and site visits to Emcor projects.

'Emcor UK is delighted to be launching this industry leading initiative that will deliver tangible benefits to our customers and contribute to the development of the next generation of engineers,' said John Matthews, managing director of Emcor Engineering Services.
