A1 Flue Systems has been granted planning permission for a new purpose-built warehouse and trade counter in North Nottinghamshire for its new Anglo-Italian venture, A1 Expo.
The company directors are keen for work to get underway as quickly as possible on the new 15,000sq ft building in New Ollerton. The build could take as little as eight weeks.
A1 Expo is a venture between A1 Flue Systems and the European stainless steel giant Expo Inox. The aim is to become the leading supplier of small-diameter flue components and flue liner for the UK domestic market by supplying independent stove shops, builders’ merchants and heating engineers.
The new warehouse and trade counter will be the platform from which the company can start delivering on its ambitious growth targets of achieving turnover of £7m within three years.
Director TJ Duncan-Moir says that the team looked at taking other premises in or around the Newark area but instead chose to build its own facility next to the A1 Flue Systems factory.
She said: “It’s fantastic news that we have been granted planning permission on a building that will be a standalone premises for A1 Expo. We are very lucky that we own the land adjoining the A1 Flue Systems factory, so gaining permission has been a smooth and quick process.
“Having a dedicated warehouse and trade counter for A1 Expo is a vital platform from which we expect to achieve the very ambitious targets we have set for business growth in the next three years. The new premises will enable us to carry a wide variety of stock that local customers can call in and collect there and then or customers further afield can have on a next-day delivery basis,” she added.
A1 Expo is focused on products for the domestic market, with flue diameters sizes ranging from 125mm up to 200mm. It will stock products including CE-Marked twin-wall insulated flue systems, single-wall flue systems, cowls, chimney fans, core vents, stove fans and carbon monoxide alarms.
