The Armstrong 3750 range of pressurisation units have received WRAS (Water Regulations Advisory Scheme) approval. In addition to giving the customer confidence that the product is compliant with UK water authority regulations, the WRAS approval means that, once the pressurisation unit is installed, there is no need for annual inspections throughout its lifespan.
The Armstrong 3750 series pressurisation units meet the requirements of a type AB air gap, and performance criteria specified in British Standard BS EN13077. The cistern design ensures protection against backflow by fluids containing contaminants, up to fluid category five, and complies with the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations 1999, the Water Byelaws 2004 Scotland, and the Water Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1991.
This means that the system designer and M & E contractor can be secure in the knowledge that the installation will be signed off by the local water authority inspector. Just as importantly, the end customer does not have to carry the burden of annual inspections. Unlike systems incorporating RPZ valves, the WRAS approval of the Armstrong 3750 pressurisation units means that there is no requirement for the equipment to be checked every year.
The pressurisation units incorporate type AB airgap arrangements with weir overflow to atmosphere and float operated ball valves, with a LLDPE storage cistern. The inlet diameter is 13mm and the water inlet size is ½" BSP. Maximum supply pressure is 3 bar. There is a link from the WRAS website to the Armstrong site for additional product information.
