Thermotech to relocate as growth continues

Thermotech Group is moving to a new head office following continued growth in its customer base and employee numbers.

Thermotech chief executive, Dave Prendergast.

The company, which provides a host of bluechip retailers and corporates with fire protection, air conditioning and mechanical services, is backed by Foresight Group, a leading infrastructure and private equity investment manager.

In 2016 Thermotech acquired air conditioning specialist, Oakwood Technology Group, and the relocation to the new 6,000 sqft offices at Hercules Park, Cheadle, will bring the enlarged team together under one roof for the first time.

Chief executive Dave Prendergast said: “It’s an exciting time for our business – we’ve seen very strong growth in the last couple of years and expect to hit £20 million turnover this year and to reach 100 employees in the next few months, which is a significant milestone for us.

“We are passionate about creating a best-in-class company; offering our clients an excellent and seamless service is vital. The integration of our service teams in the new office will support this.

“While organic growth prospects are strong – thanks to the large number of recommendations we enjoy – we are also on the look-out for acquisitions to further strengthen our range of services.”

Thermotech operates nationally to provide fire protection, HVAC service and maintenance, and system design and installation to clients which include Marks & Spencer, Next, John Lewis and Waitrose, as well as large portfolio of commercial offices and shopping centres.

With ongoing recruitment of project managers, office support and mobile service engineers, Mr Prendergast expects the company - which currently comprises 87 people - to soon reach 100 employees.

He added: “We are continuing to win national contracts with retailers throughout the UK and are also installing HVAC, M&E and fire protection systems to a variety of sites, including biomass plants, commercial offices, sheltered housing and high rise apartment developments.”

James Livingston, partner at Foresight and a non-executive director at Foresight Group added: “It is great to see Thermotech powering into 2018 with such impressive momentum and I congratulate Dave and the team for continuing to execute the strategic growth plan.”
