Kieran joined S&P UK in 2016 and is currently studying towards a Level 5 Higher National Diploma in Engineering, supported and sponsored by S&P UK.

The 23-year-old achieved a Higher Level Apprenticeship in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Electrical/Electronics) in the Science, Engineering and Manufacturing Technologies in July 2021.

The 18-month Apprenticeship included a Distinction for a BTEC Level 4 Higher National Certificate in Engineering (Electrical and Electronic Engineering) as well as a NVQ Extended Diploma in Engineering Manufacture.

The Rising Star of the Year Award recognise apprentices who have made impressive career progression, go ‘above and beyond’ in their role, and inspire others to perform to their best.

Kieran, based in S&P UK’s technical support team, said: “I am absolutely thrilled to have been shortlisted at the prestigious National Apprenticeship Awards 2021 for our region. S&P UK has given me so much support and kindness and I would like to thank everyone for investing so much in my skills and career development.

“My qualifications have really benefited my career by providing me with practical knowledge and experience in different environments. They’ve undoubtedly given me a massive boost and I look forward to progressing further with S&P UK and enhancing our reputation.”

S&P UK managing director Alex Finch said: “We’re incredibly pleased for Kieran who richly deserves this fantastic recognition. Kieran is an ambitious, hard-working and talented young engineer who we know will go on to be a superstar in our industry.

“Investing in local skills and developing future leaders is a huge priority for S&P UK. We currently have four apprentices – one of whom Kieran has taken under his wing – to help bridge the industry skills shortage and ensure we continue to invest in our future.”

The winners of the National Apprenticeship Awards 2021 – East of England will be announced at the online ceremony on Thursday 21 October.
