No thanksThe Nor-Ray-Vac heaters were positioned at approximately 6m from floor level. Controlled centrally from the University’s building management system, they maintain a constant temperature of around 14-16°C.
Radiant heating takes account of the different comfort needs of active sports participants and spectators, ensuring both are pleasantly warm without overheating. The system can also operate at 2-3 degrees lower than convection heaters without compromising comfort, delivering long-term reductions in energy usage and carbon emissions.
John O’Keeffe, Brunel University Estates Manager, comments: “This is an excellent system for this application. The athletes train in a comfortable temperature, irrespective of the weather outside.”
