Flameshield Fire Rated ductwork

Flameshield Fire Rated ductwork is a non-coated ductwork system manufactured from galvanised sheet steel on dedicated machinery.


The ductwork system has been fully tested at the Building Research Establishment and fully complies with all of the requirements of BS 476 Part 24 and BS 5588 Part 9.

The non-coated nature of the construction i.e. no need for the application of any external spray or covering, ensures that the turnaround time, from drawing production to manufacture and delivery, is greatly reduced and therefore any damage to the system is eliminated.

The Flameshield non-coated fire rated system has received LPCB (Loss Prevention Certification Board) certification.

This certification ensures that the product is in full compliance with BS 476 Part 24 – Method for the determination of the fire resistance of ventilation ducts.

The Flameshield system is suitable for all applications and is rated for a period up to 4 hours stability and integrity with up to 2 hours insulation (if specified).

The Flameshield system has also been assessed as being suitable for use as a smoke extract system (retains at least 75% of its shape in full fire conditions) for a period of 2 hours stability and integrity (as required by BS 476 Part 24).
