Hoval's biomass factories produce EEF Award

Hoval's 'innovative manufacturing' of biomass boilers has been honoured in the 2009 EEF Future Manufacturing Awards.

Winning the Midlands region awards in the 'Business Growth' category, the Newark-based heating firm was congratulated for its production and quality control programme which has brought major efficiency and sustainability improvements.

Managing director Adrian Walker said: "We have made a significant investment, in terms of both time and money, to ensure our manufacturing facilities in Newark and Lincoln truly deserve the title of 'centres of excellence'.

"With the phenomenal growth that our biomass boilers have enjoyed in the last few years it has been vital to maintain high production standards and prompt delivery for customers. UK manufacture also ensures we can minimise the embedded carbon in the life cycle of these products by reducing transportation emissions."

Hoval's award was received by Adrian Walker and production director Tony Roche at the awards ceremony in Leicester. The EEF awards were launched this year to celebrate innovation, environmental performance and skills development among UK manufacturers.
