Company Announcement

Thermo-Floor plays it cool in Abu Dhabi

Thermo-Floor, the supplier of next generation energy efficient underfloor heating and cooling solutions, installed underfloor cooling at the prestigious Yas Marina Circuit at Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, home to the recent Formula 1 Grand Prix.

Neil Evans, General Manager at Thermo-Floor explains: "We were brought in on the project as we are able to offer the complete package - the design through to installation of an energy efficient underfloor cooling system. The principles of underfloor cooling are simply the principles of underfloor heating, reversed. Cooled water flows through the tube which reduces the temperature of the surrounding surfaces creating a comfortable inner climate without the disadvantages that air conditioning has, such as draughts, air pollution and expensive ducting.

"Designed around specific criteria, the 560m² project had to be able to work under conditions in excess of 50% relative humidity and an internal temperature of 25 degrees celsius. The installation team were able to commission the system within 5 days of inception, which was positively received in the 40 degree heat."
