IRSAP sales director appointed deputy chair of MARC

IRSAP sales director Andy Phillips, has been appointed as the Deputy Chairman of the Manufacturers’ Association of Radiators and Convectors (MARC).

Andy Phillips is the new Deputy Chairman of MARC

Voted for by his peers, Andy’s appointment follows a four-year strong membership between IRSAP and the industry body where he will continue to drive awareness of legislation and properly certified radiators.

Established in 2011 as a subsidiary of BARMA (the Boiler and Radiator Manufacturers' Association, founded in 1941), MARC is an industry body that seeks to educate the entire supply chain from manufacturer to end user about the legislation surrounding radiators and convectors and since its beginnings, MARC membership has grown substantially, with representatives including manufacturers and suppliers of decorative and designer radiators.

Mr Phillips said: “IRSAP has been instrumental in working with MARC to educate merchants, installers and consumers on the importance of certification and legislation, particularly regarding BS EN1442.

“It is the law, and a merchant’s legal responsibility, to only sell products that comply with BS EN442. Sadly, there are products on the market that are subpar and do not meet legal requirements, so it is critical that merchants, installers and consumers are fully aware of the obligations and what is required from manufacturers in order to help to reduce the problem in the industry.”

He continued: “IRSAP has always promoted the importance of radiator legislation, and the manufacture of high-quality, fully certified products which will work as intended. I am very proud to join the Chairman, at the forefront of MARC to continue to drive this message throughout the industry.”

Carbon reductions for northern arena

Rinnai hot water systems are projected to produce ‘significant’ carbon reductions at a huge indoor arena in the North of England. The company has produced a designed system based on its R290 high-temperature heat pump. This arena regularly hosts large events such as concerts, conferences, theatre plays, exhibitions, live music and other conventions – so the site must have an energy efficient and carbon-reducing hot water system to achieve NetZero.
