Innovation & Sustainability Awards announced

Winners of the Innovation & Sustainability Awards (ISAs) 2010 have been announced.
The ISAs - organised in association with Energy Solutions, Total Workplace Management and M&E: The Building Services Event - celebrate 'innovative and sustainable products and services that support the effective and efficient management of an organisation, workplace or building'.
Among this year's winners were:
· Best innovation in green products or services
SenseLogix
SenseLogix's entry won this category because of 'its wide applicability to many businesses along with its ability to be retrofitted with minimum disruption'.
· Best innovation in energy management
Datum Phase Change
This product was chosen 'as it demonstrates a real attempt at beating one of the largest problems buildings will face in the future: overheating and over-dependence on air conditioning. The company is making use of some of the latest materials available but using them in a straightforward, easy-to-install solution'.
· Best innovation in FM services
Interserve
Judges felt that Interserve brought true innovation to sustainability with the launch of RENEWABLES, a practical guide presented in an innovative format. 'Organisations using RENEWABLES are already showing substantial reductions in carbon emissions and operating costs,' they said.
· Best innovation in building services
Hoval
The judges were enthusiastic about Hoval's biomass boiler, its the new filter and the fact that it can be retrofitted to existing biomass systems.
· Outstanding contribution to the industry
Mike Malina, Director of Energy Solutions Associates
Mike's commitment to sustainable engineering and energy management is based on genuine passion for the industry, coupled with a real desire to see building designers, owners and managers get the optimum energy performance from their building, said the judges.
