Work at the Heatrae Sadia factory in Norwich has been partly outsourced after some of the building was gutted by a fierce blaze.
Some 250 people work at the factory which makes all Heatrae Sadia's product ranges, but at the time of the fire there were only 17 employees in the building. All were evacuated and uninjured.
The fire was reported at 11.45pm on September 10 and continued until 5am the following morning.
The fire had to be tackled by 70 firefighters and 11 members of the emergency services were sent to hospital with smoke inhalation.
The external annex affected by the fire was the pump station for the cylinder treatment plant. The fire forced the water-heating appliance manufacturer, part of the Baxi group, to outsource some of the firm's work to another firm.
A spokeswoman for Heatrae Sadia said: 'A fire broke out in an external annex of Heatrae Sadia’s factory. The fire was limited to this area and staff remained uninjured.
All production areas in the main factory started operation during September 14. 'Third party services have been secured for the process affected by the incident while repairs are undertaken and Heatrae Sadia does not anticipate any significant effect on deliveries of any product to customers'.
The company (founded in Norwich in 1920) said the cause of the fire is currently unknown, but a full investigation into the incident is taking place.
