GDL secured the contract to design, manufacture and install x16 Intelivent Solarstore Natural Ventilation Units at the £18 million iconic state of the art sports facility in Middlesborough.  

GDL’s units sustainably ventilate the sports halls using solar power to increase the ventilation rate by over 75%. This is particularly effective in summer and times of high occupancy.

GDL also designed and supplied the Brise Soleil System to the main entrance of the sports facility. The bespoke 200mm deep bladed system provides shading to the glazed wall of the building. The length of the blades was longer than the standard maximum therefore the company designed a unique blade taking into consideration their deflection and the possible wind and snow loadings.

GDL also supplied a frameless Louvre Screen and Double Louvred Doors on the ground floor to the plant area. The bespoke louvres were designed to allow for a larger opening through the plant room doors.
