Dimplex solar PV training gets accredited
[firstParagraph]
Dimplex claims it is helping installers to access the solar photovoltaic (PV) market with its Logic Certification-approved solar PV installer training course.
The course is independently accredited by Logic Certification, which is said to give industry-wide recognition, and provides installers with the knowledge and skills necessary to design, install and commission domestic and light commercial solar PV systems.
Covering all aspects of the grid connected solar PV systems typically used in the UK, the three day full course costs £495 and takes place at Dimplex's high-spec training facility at the company's headquarters in Southampton. The course is open to suitably qualified and experienced electricians and assessment is through practical exercises throughout the course and a multiple choice written assessment on completion.
The course also provides recognised training competency towards installer certification under the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS). Once MCS certificated, attendees will be able to access grant funding and the feed-in tariffs for any installations they carry out.
In addition to fulfilling the MCS training requirement, the Dimplex course also allows installers to join the Dimplex Renewables Accredited Installer Scheme, providing access to the full range of solar PV packages, marketing support and technical back up from one of the UK's leading and most respected electrical and renewables brands.
Launched in April, the government's Feed-in Tariffs (FiT) provide guaranteed income for 25 years - up to 43.1p for each kWh of electricity generated, even if it's used on-site, which also saves on energy bills. Ofgem reports a total of over 6,600 solar PV installations since the introduction of the scheme, 2,257 installations in August alone, so qualified installers are set to be much in demand.
