CRS rolls out new national network and expands sales team

Carrier Rental Systems (CRS) has rolled-out a new national sales network and made a number of new appointments to support strategic growth plans.

The company has appointed four new sales managers to its regional network, which now provides full coverage across the UK and Ireland. Seven regional sales managers, responsible for London, South East, South West, Midlands, North, Scotland and Ireland, now report to CRS director Marc White.

In addition, CRS has appointed a sector specialist to target opportunities to expand in cold storage, large hvacr projects and the food industry.

The moves follow the company’s recent investment at its headquarters in Thorpe, Surrey, designed to accommodate an expanded fleet of chillers, mobile air conditioning units, air handling units (AHUs), boilers and packaged heating systems.

New plant includes 40 Carrier high efficiency chillers, and hundreds of portable air conditioning units and additional AHUs, extending the company’s ability to provide solutions at short notice. The firm plans to make further significant investments in new portable cooling equipment in time for summer 2015.

CRS says the changes are already delivering significant results. Recent contract wins include a major project for a 2MW chiller for use at a distillery, several hire contracts with pharmaceutical companies, and a new national facilities management account.

CRS has also been working closely with a national retailer on the supply of some 200 evaporative coolers over the summer. It reported that the plant most in demand over the past year has been temporary chillers for use in R22 phase-out projects.

Marc White, CRS director, said: “Given that the final ban on the use of reclaimed R22 for topping up plant becomes effective at the end of this year, this area is expected to remain an important driver for the business.”

He also confirmed that the company is working on plans for a series of ‘super depots’, with the aim of bringing together temperature control, power and pump equipment at single locations – to provide a one-stop solution to meet all customer needs.

He said: “Having a full range of equipment at strategically placed locations around the country will greatly streamline logistics, and enable us to respond very quickly to urgent enquiries.”

“We believe that, together, these developments – in people, plant and our network - are game-changers for the business. They will help drive our growth over the coming year and beyond, and enable us to provide an ever better service for our customers.”
