CIBSE offers courses promoting energy efficiency

CIBSE (the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers) is offering two special courses at a number of venues in February and March, to help implement energy efficiency measures.
Funded by the DECC (Department of Energy and Climate Change), the courses are free of charge to attendees and will be held in Birmingham (18 and 19 February), Manchester (26 and 27 February), Belfast (5 and 6 March), London (11 and 12 March), Cardiff (18 and 19 March), and Edinburgh (26 and 27 March).

Director of finance and services at CIBSE, Stewart Gilmour, said: 'Thanks to DECC's funding these courses will give CIBSE and the attendees an opportunity to share knowledge and make positive changes to drive down energy demand in the daily running of their buildings.'

Designed for non-energy efficiency specialists, the courses begin from a 'no knowledge' position. They will help participants with simple invoice checking, improving staff behaviour, raising awareness and generally managing their buildings better.

One course will focus on 25 measures to reduce building energy costs and the other will explore benchmarking to identify deeper energy efficiency measures.

Enthusiasts of building performance such as facilities managers or young engineers are welcome to sign up for the courses as an opportunity to increase their knowledge of energy management.

With just 30 places available in each class, applicants are encouraged to book swiftly by visiting www.cibsetraining.co.uk
