CIBSE leads Part L review

CIBSE is leading the non-domestic working group advising the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG) and Building Regulations Advisory Committee (BRAC) on the planned changes to Part L for 2013.
Foroutan Parand, head of building physics at URS Scott Wilson, is chairing the working group which is made up of a cross section of industry participants.

The advisory group will look at the potential to further reduce carbon emissions from new and existing non domestic buildings within the broader policy constraints set by the coalition government, and will be reporting to BRAC in July 2011 with its recommendations.

A full public consultation is scheduled to be launched by DCLG towards the end of the year. Parallel groups are looking at domestic standards, compliance & performance, and potential links between the Green Deal and Part L.
