Former HVCA president, Chris Sneath, has been awarded an MBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours, in recognition of his outstanding service to the heating and plumbing sectors.
Mr Sneath is the only president of the association since the Second World War to have served two separate terms of office (1990-91 and 1996-97).
In the early 1990s, he played a pivotal role in the Latham Review of procurement in the construction industry, which led to the introduction of contracts legislation which provides protections of particular value to specialist and sub-contractors.
In addition, he has served as deputy chairman of the Construction Industry Board, founding chairman of the Plumbing and Heating Industry Alliance and Master of the Worshipful Company of Plumbers in 2009-10.
His wide-ranging involvement in charitable work includes a long relationship with PHAB of which he continues to act as trustee and board member.
Mr Sneath is currently chairman of WaterSafe.
