Mr Barrett entered the heating industry at age 19 and initially worked as a sales assistant before taking being made lightside manager of newly set up heating and plumbing departments at the then Graham Reeves branch in Newton Abbot, Devon.

After a decade, he moved on to Lochinvar, selling boilers and water heaters as area sales manager within the South and South West of England. After being promoted to UK sales manager, he was not only managing the sales team nationally but also implementing the water heating sizing programme and CPD seminar projects

Mr Barrett went on to hold positions at Smedegaard Pumps as general manager and later UK director. Following the sale of the entire Smedegaard Group by its owners, he moved on to become the South West area sales manager, selling water heaters, boilers and CHP units for AO Smith UK (Adveco).

Most recently, Mr Barrett has worked for heating and hot water specialist ACV as a business development manager. This company was acquired by Hamworthy’s parent organisation Groupe Atlantic in 2018.
