BSRIA appoints new information and knowledge manager

BSRIA has announced the appointment of Steve Sansom as its new information and knowledge manager in its Membership Team.

Steve Sansom, information and knowledge manager at BSRIA

The appointment of Mr Sansom demonstrates BSRIA’s continued commitment to highlighting the extensive access to knowledge provided to members within this department, to give them the “competitive edge”.

Services include an information centre, library, bookshop, expert advice, networks, training and events. Members are able to keep up-to-date with the latest industry research, legislation, business news and technical guidance.

Mr Sansom joins BSRIA having had a vibrant career at Surrey County Council Libraries for the past 24 years in a variety of roles, including managing a public library and qualifying as a VQ Assessor.

He is a highly professional librarian with commercial experience and excellent people skills. His research, communication and attention to detail are first-rate.

BSRIA sees this appointment as an essential step for BSRIA in making continued strides towards being ever more customer centric and delivering excellent service to its members and clients alike.

Tim Page, head of membership and marketing, said: “We are delighted to have appointed Steve into this crucial and central role to reinforce the information and knowledge team. Steve’s diverse and professional experience in information management, research, customer service and online resource supervision is second to none.

“One of Steve’s key tasks will be the ongoing production of BSRIA’s ever-useful topic guides.”

Mr Sansom added: “I am thrilled to join BSRIA at this exciting time to ensure members, clients and the wider industry get the most out of the information and knowledge department at all times.

“Indeed, members can search and order from our online catalogue of over 80,000 items on building services and BSRIA members also have access to downloads, webinars and our far-reaching legislation and compliance database.

“BSRIA has the largest dedicated building services library in Europe and BSRIA members can borrow standards, journal articles, books, papers and reports in our collections.

“I’m keen to work with both existing members and clients and welcome new regional, national and global businesses to support BSRIA in its effort to offer the best services to the built environment and construction industry.”
