Baxi has launched a new training suite at East Durham College's Technical Academy.
Different types of boilers in the new facility will give students the opportunity to learn their trade in a 'hands on' environment before starting work.
Part of East Durham College, The Technical Academy is located in a 30,000 square feet purpose-built facility on Peterlee's South West Industrial Estate. A wide range of construction courses are offered including plastering, tiling, gas, electric and fitted interiors.
Technical Academy Education and Centre manager Rob Hutchinson said: 'It's absolutely fantastic what's been done with the Baxi area; it's right up to the latest heating industry standard. The training suite will be a great aid to students on our gas and heating and plumbing courses, giving them the opportunity to actually experience first-hand what it is like to work on the very latest equipment.'
Prior to this, our students only had limited access to a few different types of boilers and now Baxi has brought in a full range of boilers from other brands under the BDR Thermea umbrella, allowing our students to have access to an array of different types of heating systems.
The Baxi Suite also provides an opportunity for professionals from the heating industry to re-train, up-skill and renew their certificates.
