Bassetts completes £2 million investment programme

Northern Irish plumbing and heating supplier, Bassetts, has completed a £2 million investment programme across its branch network, creating 12 new jobs in the process.

Left to right: Leighton Bancroft, Billy Clarke, Alan Wright, Ian Murray and James Kerrigan.

This investment comes after impressive growth for the business, with its tile sales in particular having increased 45 percent year on year.

In 2017, Bassetts has added over 37,000 sqft to its operations, bringing its total to almost 400,000 sqft, and has increased its total workforce to over 130 staff.

The company has expanded its Bangor showroom; opened a new Lisburn branch which is double the size of its previous one; and opened its brand new Clady branch which was acquired in late 2016.

The award-winning plumbers’ merchant is also set to make a major announcement in the New Year regarding plans to add a 16th branch to its network, extending its offering to County Fermanagh and meaning the business will have a branch in every county in Northern Ireland.

Bassetts’ managing director Alan Wright said: “We have experienced remarkable growth over the past year, having secured new retail and trade customers across Northern Ireland. This has enabled us to invest significantly in our branch network, grow our team and continue to build on this success, extending our footprint across the region.

“I am thrilled with the work carried out on our branches so far and the benefits that these developments will bring to our customers, as well as our employees. I would like to thank every member of the 130-strong Bassetts team as this growth wouldn’t have been possible without their hard work, dedication and the top class service they give to our customers on a daily basis.”

A strong focus on superior design, innovation and cutting-edge technology, alongside its commitment to adapting to the ever-changing needs of customers, has been key to Bassetts’ achievements over the past 35 years.

A prime example is the Bassetts Visualiser, Northern Ireland’s first interactive touchscreen software that allows customers to choose from hundreds of wall and floor tiles to easily create the perfect look in their dream bathroom.

Carbon reductions for northern arena

Rinnai hot water systems are projected to produce ‘significant’ carbon reductions at a huge indoor arena in the North of England. The company has produced a designed system based on its R290 high-temperature heat pump. This arena regularly hosts large events such as concerts, conferences, theatre plays, exhibitions, live music and other conventions – so the site must have an energy efficient and carbon-reducing hot water system to achieve NetZero.
