North Wales based contractor AT Green is teaming up with renewable products manufacturer Stiebel Eltron to explore opportunities for solar installations across the region.

AT Green is targeting green energy as a growth sector, having received industry accreditation to install solar PV systems. The company's first installation project was at its headquarters, which has been fitted with six 2.2kW solar PV panels.

Managing director at AT Green, Garry Green, said: 'We are very pleased to have signed a partnership agreement with Stiebel Eltron as they are a global leader in the renewables industry and will help us to expand into the sector.

'The green energy industry is continuing to grow and we see solar as a great market for AT Green. We have been receiving a lot of enquiries about solar panels so to be able to now offer these excellent solar PV systems to our customers is fantastic. As well as providing energy and cost savings, the Feed in Tariff incentive means that homeowners and businesses that use solar PV get paid for the electricity they produce.

'We have already undertaken our first installation, and are happy to be leading by example by installing a solar PV system on the roof of our headquarters in Buckley. This will reduce our energy bills and significantly cut our carbon footprint. We will also be making money back by selling any excess electricity we produce to the National Grid - it's a win-win situation.'

Mark McManus, managing director of Stiebel Eltron UK, said: 'We aim to work with the best installers and AT Green is a great company with exceptional services. This partnership will see us providing AT Green with our latest renewable technology, working alongside their installers to source new opportunities and offering our ongoing support throughout installation projects.

'With the Feed-in-Tariff and the government announcing the Renewable Heat Incentive this month, commercial organisations and homeowners have tangible incentives to go green. This means there will be more work for installers like AT Green, who have adapted to maximise the opportunities that renewable energy will bring over the coming years.'

AT Green also benefited from training at the new Green Energy Training Centre in Merseyside, which is a partnership between Stiebel Eltron, training provider Scientiam and the National Skills Academy.

Mr Green said: 'The GETC course provided excellent training for myself and our installers. It was vital that we were able to get to grips with the technology and learn hands-on how to install, use and maintain the systems. The training has ensured that we are confident, secure and most importantly are fully accredited as qualified solar PV installers.'

Mr McManus added: 'We are always keen to work with more installers and would welcome the chance to meet with any company or tradesman who feels they could benefit from working alongside Stiebel Eltron.'
