Wilo-Star-Z NOVA: Optimised solution for high-level hot water practicality

Wilo has developed its established Wilo-Star-Z NOVA glandless circulation pump for use in domestic hot water systems in industrial and building services: “By optimising our product, we have taken a further step towards a convenient hot water supply designed specifically for single-family houses. With its maximum delivery head of 1.05m and a maximum volume flow of 0.4m³/h, it is perfectly suited for use in domestic properties,” explains Wilo Product Manager Stefanie Sabinarsz. “This is why we have improved both the durability and the performance of the Wilo-Star-Z NOVA.” The “diligent” high-efficiency pump offers extreme convenience by means of immediate provision of hot water as required and minimises energy costs at the same time.

Improved performance with consistent efficiency

The improved Wilo pump combines known properties with new features: “The switch to a bigger impeller means a delivery head of up to 1.05 metres can now be achieved. This is a height increase of 17%, explains Sabinarsz. “This would not have been possible with the old stainless steel impeller. The improved pump is also amazingly efficient, with its maximum power consumption unchanged at 4.5 Watts,” the product manager adds. “With its synchronous motor, the Wilo-Star-Z NOVA can save up to 80 percent electricity compared to an uncontrolled pump.” The use of high-quality materials allows the high-efficiency pump to make a significant contribution to drinking water hygiene, as it offers safe protection from bacteria and corrosive elements in the water.

Easy to fit with a long service life
The pump is incredibly easy to install, as it can be connected quickly via a Wilo-Connector and put into service. “Just like its predecessor, the Wilo-Star-Z NOVA pays for itself very quickly compared to a conventional domestic hot water pump,” explains Sabinarsz. “The new shaft material makes it more robust, which is very important, especially for high levels of water hardness.” As this extremely robust pump is also suitable for water with a high lime content and hardnesses of up to 20 °dH, it can easily be used in areas with water with a high lime content.

The dimensions and hydraulics remain the same. Stefanie Sabinarsz explains why: “The compatible casing should allow a quick, simple replacement of all conventional models of this design, irrespective of the manufacturer. This is also helped by the Wilo-Star-Z NOVA Service Motor.” Other models of the high-efficiency pump are also available. Wilo-Star-Z NOVA A is fitted with a ball shut-off and non-return valve so the fittings do not be purchased separately from the wholesaler/retailer and fitted, the pump has everything it needs.

The Star-Z NOVA C model also has a separate digital time switch.
